New features in our Upscale Indicator could save you valuable time and eliminate many errors when you’re logging and analyzing large data sets. If you’re in the market for a high-quality industrial scale, it’s important to not only choose a scale that will provide accurate weight readings for years to come, but also to learn about the available scale features that can allow you additional flexibility.
At Arlyn Scales, we’ve been providing industrial scales to a wide array of different industries for well over 30 years. In this time, we’ve kept a close eye on how our customers are using our scales and have worked hard to add additional scale features to make their jobs even easier.
Datalogging Capabilities Built Into Our Industrial Scales
One of the top features that continue to be recommended by our customers is our datalogging functionality. If you’re not familiar with datalogging, it allows our scale owners to plug a USB flash drive directly into a scale’s USB port and instantly download weight data that can be later accessed on a computer. The data is saved in a standard Comma Separated Value (CSV) format, which can be accessed via popular database and spreadsheet programs such as Microsoft Access and Excel.
One of the key benefits of datalogging is for scenarios where your scale is physically inaccessible to a computer. With datalogging you can still download weight data and access it on a PC to ensure accuracy.
New Features That Take Our Datalogging Functionality to the Next Level
While datalogging has always been popular with our customers, we’ve recently added some additional functionality that should give you even more flexibility. Instead of manually entering massive numbers of records using a normal display indicator, users can now instantly import and export an entire database of tares or parts (for Parts Counting Scales) into an Excel spreadsheet or CSV file into one of our scales. In addition, this same functionality can be used to import or export data between multiple scales to synchronize databases across the different scales.
Additional Scale Features to Boost Productivity
Below are just a few of the many scale features that are available to our growing list of customers. Should you have questions about any of these scale features, don’t hesitate to reach out to our team today.
Arlyn UpScale Touchscreen Indicator

In addition to these features, this revolutionary touchscreen indicator offers a whole host of new features that will make your job easier than ever before. A few of these include:
Large Touchscreen – The Arlyn UpScale indicator comes equipped with a 7″ HD IPS Capacitive touchscreen, which offers a full color display that’s extremely easy to use.
- Powerful Processor – This touchscreen device is a fully-featured tablet that’s powered by a Quad Core processor that runs the popular Android operating system.
- Ample Storage & RAM – With 8 GB of storage and 1GB of RAM, you’ll not only be able to store as much weight data as you’d like, but thanks to the ample amount of RAM, the device will allow you to browse through the various menu options flawlessly.
- User Friendly – Before we designed the Arlyn UpScale Touchscreen Indicator, we thought about how our users would actually interact with the device. This way we created all of the functionality with user experience in mind to ensure our users could intuitively understand how the device works without ample training.
- Email Capabilities – Additionally, with this touchscreen you’ll be able to email the data log file to yourself or any other email address on demand, automatically, or with the simple click of a button.
All of our industrial scales come equipped to connect via a variety of communication protocols including Ethernet and WiFi, USB and RS-232 (Serial). This way you can not only access weight data from a PC, but you can even control the scales directly, or even remotely with our WiFi and Ethernet functionality.
Abuse-Resistant Load Cells
All of our industrial scales feature high quality stainless steel load cells that are much more receptive resistant to abuse compared to our competitors who will often machine their load cells from materials like steel or aluminum. With our stainless steel load cells, you won’t have to worry as much about your scale’s internal components being exposed to caustic materials. In addition, you can rest easy knowing that your scale’s internal components are built to withstand a wide array of industrial conditions, and will last for many years to come.
