What is a Parts Counting Scale and How Does it Work?Parts counting scales convert the weight of a batch of parts into the number of pieces in that batch. This is accomplished by weighing a small sample of parts, calculating the weight of an individual piece, and then dividing the weight of the full batch by that calculated piece weight. While this sounds like it should be pretty simple, many of our competitors get it wrong. Our counting scales’ high precision and advanced digital algorithms make it a quick and easy process.
Micro and Precision Counting Scale TechnologyArlyn parts counting scales are sold Factory Direct, bringing very accurate counting ability at an economical cost. A precision-machined stainless steel load cell provides excellent counting accuracy, even with large batches up to 100 lb. Lower capacity scales are suitable for smaller parts. For those situations requiring even greater counting accuracy, see our Ultra Precision SAW scales. This patented technology increases precision by a factor of ten times or more – all at very reasonable cost.
Easy to Use Industrial Parts Counting ScalesIn most situations, our “Quick Count” mode turns counts parting into a one step process without confusing menu functions. Equipped with a large internal memory, you can store the piece weight of many different items, effectively by-passing the sampling process. The optional remote digital indicator allows the display to be positioned almost anywhere. The moveable Swing Arm can be positioned for trouble-free viewing. A number of alternate weighing modes provide further versatility.
Data CollectionInventory data is meant to be shared. We provide a wide choice of communication options to move your data to external computer systems or even to the web.
Extremely RuggedThese industrial parts counting scales include a stainless steel platform with a robust, machined aluminum frame. Four overload stops provide additional protection. The display enclosure is molded and then sealed with a rubber gasket for protection from moisture. The scale can be used out of the box, and does not require dealer set up or calibration services.
Import/Export of Sample DefinitionsThe Arlyn UpScale indicator is a versatile scale display indicator that not only offers the most advanced, state-of-the-art Scale Display Technology in the industry, but it also offers a myriad of functions and usability to allow the most flexibility in system integration. One of the newest features added in the Arlyn UpScale indicator is the ability to import Sample records (used for Parts Counting) from the customers’ existing database. The scale also provides the ability to export its current table of samples or tares so that it can be used in the customer’s data or just for backup purposes in case something happens to the scale. The Import/Export function is available in all Arlyn UpScale indicators equipped with USB Data Logging option.
Intrinsically Safe Versions AvailableFor hazardous or classified environments, see Arlyn’s Intrinsically Safe ArlynGuard B Series Bench Scales and ArlynGuard S Series Ultra Precision Scales equipped with FM Approved display indicator and load cell sensors. These scales can be configured to be Intrinsically Safe Counting Scales.
- 2-Wire or 3-Wire 4-20mA (no display): These scales can also be configured for applications that do not require a Digital Display Indicator. This is suitable if your application requires this scale with a 2- or 3-wire 4-20mA or 0-5V interface without a display.
- Load Cell Kits (without platform): We also provide load cell kits with capacities as stated for these types of scales. The kits include the heavy duty stainless steel load cells, legs, and other hardware. The kit can also include the scale display if requested.
What are the Benefits of Using a Parts Counting Scale?Parts counting scales come with many benefits, the biggest one being that they can greatly increase productivity. Arlyn Scales Parts Counting Scales are extremely accurate, helping you save time on tracking inventory. Our scales can even alert you when inventory gets low if you keep your shelved bins on the scales. We have worked with customers to develop a control system run through a WiFi connection that will trigger an automatic email message when inventory counts drop below a certain point. This ensures you don’t completely run out of product, preventing supply chain issues.
Who Should Buy a Parts Counting Scale?Parts Counting Scales are ideal for any business that needs to maintain precise inventory management or count large amounts of small parts. You will most often find Parts Counting Scales in factories and assembly line production facilities. If you need to keep track of the inventory of electronic components, bolts, washers, screws, and other small parts, these scales are perfect. When you know the weight of an empty container and the weight of a single part, our scales can quickly determine how many pieces are in the container. You won’t have to waste time or worry about errors counting parts by yourself.
Using Parts Counting Scales in Manufacturing or FulfillmentParts Counting Scales are also great for third-party logistics, including manufacturing and fulfillment. A warehouse needs to stay organized and always know exactly how many of each item is available. In manufacturing, these scales can be used to keep track of parts and supplies. In fulfillment, they can be used to track product inventory. For example, if your warehouse is a fulfillment center for e-commerce, knowing the weight of each type of product helps you determine how many you have. And our inventory control system can alert you to low inventory levels, so you don’t run out and can keep your fulfillment process running smoothly. If you still aren’t sure a Parts Counting Scale is right for you, we are always happy to help. With decades of experience, we are able to find the right solution for every business.
