Arlyn industrial scale printers can give operators an immediate receipt, weight record, product label, barcode, or QR code without re-entering the measurement at a separate workstation. Arlyn Scales offers four printer configurations for different label sizes, media types, indicator choices, and traceability requirements.

Which printer should I choose for an Arlyn scale?
Choose the Arlyn PR-A90 with an UpScale touchscreen when you need wide, professional thermal labels with barcodes or QR codes. Choose the compact Arlyn PR-A10 for narrow 58 mm printouts, the USB-only Epson TM-L90 or a compatible equivalent for label and receipt printing from UpScale, or the Epson TM-U220D for traditional impact receipts from either an MKE-5 or UpScale. Printer hardware is selected as part of a compatible scale order; the PR-A90 is not sold separately.

Label Designer Suite Preview

OpenLabel is available for creating label layouts. Arlyn LabelTag and the complete UpScale mapped-template workflow are still being finalized. Until that workflow is released and tested, confirm the supported production software, print-frame selection process, printer configuration, and label media when ordering.

Choose Among Industrial Scale Printers by Application

  • Choose the Arlyn PR-A90 when label width, barcode flexibility, roll capacity, media sensing, and professional product identification are the priorities.
  • Choose the Arlyn PR-A10 when the station needs a compact 58 mm receipt or narrow barcode printout from UpScale.
  • Choose the Epson TM-L90 or a compatible equivalent when you need thermal labels or receipts from a USB-connected UpScale station.
  • Choose the Epson TM-U220D when you need a traditional impact receipt, serial connection, or one original plus one copy and do not need barcodes.

Plan the complete configuration before ordering

Confirm the scale model, indicator, connection method, cable length, printer location, label or paper dimensions, barcode format, required data fields, print trigger, and number of printouts. Some printer and barcode functions require purchased options or factory wiring.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Arlyn scale printer is best for wide barcode labels?
The Arlyn PR-A90 is the preferred option for wide labels. It accepts media from 20 to 118 mm wide, prints up to 108 mm wide, and supports common 1D and 2D barcode formats when used with an UpScale and the Barcode and QR Code Print Function.
Can an MKE-5 indicator print barcodes?
Within the printer lineup shown here, the MKE-5 can send standard print output to the Epson TM-U220D through RS-232. Arlyn’s integrated barcode and QR-code printing workflow requires the UpScale touchscreen, the Barcode and QR Code Print Function, and a supported printer.
Do thermal printers require ink or a ribbon?
No. The Arlyn PR-A90, Arlyn PR-A10, and Epson TM-L90 use heat-sensitive thermal media. The impact-style Epson TM-U220D uses an ERC-38 inked ribbon.
Can Arlyn help create a custom label format?
OpenLabel is available now for creating the label layout. Arlyn LabelTag, the planned companion utility for mapping supported variable fields and preparing the UpScale template workflow, is coming soon. Contact Arlyn to discuss the current capabilities and the intended application.
Can the Arlyn PR-A90 be purchased separately?
No. The Arlyn PR-A90 is offered only as a configured option with a compatible scale order. It is not sold as a standalone printer and is not offered as a retrofit selection.

Configure the Scale, Printer, and Label Workflow Together

When comparing industrial scale printers, tell Arlyn what the scale must print, the label or paper size, whether barcodes or QR codes are required, and how operators will trigger each printout. We can match the indicator, printer, interface, software, and media as part of a compatible scale configuration.
