Ethernet Connectivity Makes Arlyn Scales Accessible From Anywhere

Scales are often used to monitor a specific industrial process. A tank
may be placed on a scale platform, and based on its weight, liquid may
be pumped into or out of that tank. Feeders and batching equipment are
also often controlled by weight parameters. But this weight monitoring
and control is not necessarily happening at the same location as the
scale.
Arlyn Scales has introduced an Ethernet module which can be connected to
any of our professional scales. Using this module, the scale may be
connected to a local area network (LAN) at that location. Arlyn can also
provide, as part of this application, “Remote Indicator” software, which
is a Windows based application that reads scale information on any
computer with Internet access.
This software can also export weight data into an Excel spreadsheet or
an Access database file. A utility is also available that will import
the scale information into any other Windows-based application.
The Ethernet Module also allows the user to control the scale remotely
from any PC. Different commands can be sent for most of the scale’s
front panel switches, including tare, net and gross, and units of
measurement.
